What are Matte Transitions?
Traditionally, you would use an animation to cover up the transition between 2 scenes. Matte transitions use the black and white values of a video to display both scenes at the same time while transitioning. Which in turn allows for a unique way to transition between scenes.
How to use Matte Transitions
1. Open up OBS Studio or Streamlabs Desktop and locate the Scene Transitions Dock.
2. Click on the + symbol and select Stinger.
3. Name your stinger and click OK.
4. Click on Browse and locate the matte transition you want to use.
5. Locate the Track Matte section, and click on the checkbox to turn on Matte Transitions.
6. In the Matte Layout dropdown, select Mask Only.
7. Click on Preview Transition to make sure it's transitioning the correct way, if not select the Invert Matte Colors, and click ok. Test by swapping to a new scene.
